Love is in the air

Howdy my crafty peeps!

It is time for another Designer's Challenge for Karen Burniston's Pop It Ups. The theme for January  is NEW! Wide open theme using at least one of the new CHA release products.

When the new dies were released, I held demos at my LSS. While there, many people asked, were do I get inspiration from. I explained that many times, it is little things that catch my eye. Things such as sayings, color schemes, etc. After receiving these die I saw a gift bag at my local Target. That bag is the inspiration for the two cards I made for today.

Here is the bag, front and back.

For my first card, I used the Pull card die and the Hot Air Balloon Die.  For the background, I incorporated the bag itself.

When the tab is pulled, it reveals the sentiment, which is the tag from the bag.

For my second card, I used the Oval Pull card with the moving mechanism from the Rectangle Pull card.  I used the same sentiment as the first card.

When the card is open, you can see the hot air balloon fly. The sentiment inside is from a Fiskars stamp set.

Butterfly Pivot Screen Card

Hello my crafty friends! As you know, CHA is in full swing! The Pop It Ups line by  Karen Burniston had some new additions to the family released.   For the release, Karen created a beautiful e-Book showcasing projects from each of the designers and one project from herself. This E-Book uses  the new dies released at CHA and many of the older dies mixed in!  Check out the e-Book HERE on Karen's Blog and the best thing is, it is FREE!

Here is the screen card I created for the book using the new Barrel Basket Die, What's Up clear stamps, and a mix of older dies from the collection.

Home for the Holidays!

Hello my crafty friends!  It is time for another Designers Challenge for Pop It Ups.

DECEMBER - Home for the Holidays - Let's see how you can interpret the phrase. Use the House, Holiday House or Barn (or are you making a tree house?) or some sort of "home" on a Holiday card.

For the outside of my card, I have use the Holiday House decorator die along with the Flourish Gift Frame die.

Here is the card open. I kept the inside pretty simple using the Merry Christmas Pop Up die.

It's Somebunny's Birthday!

Hello my crafty friends!  It is time for another Designers Challenge for Pop It Ups.

This months challenge is :  Pop it Ups Video Techniques - Choose any technique from any of Karen's Pop it Ups videos going back to the beginning and use it for a card of any theme.

For my card, I chose the Spiral Circle Pull Card and Lucky the Rabbit video tutorials.

Here is the card open. Using Karen's layering process on the acetate, it looks like an explosion of balloons.

Our Love Is On Target

Hello my crafty friends!  It is day 2 for this month's Designers Challenge for Pop It Ups.

This months challenge is : Characters in Costume - We've seen amazing Character transformations (Steampunk Poppy, Cocoa Unicorn, Cocoa Zebra, Rudy White Stag, Vampire Hoppy, Honey Pooh, Hoppy Tree Frog, Reindeer Brownie, Sleeping Dutch, Monster Mouse, etc.) and now it's time to show off your costuming skills to transform a Character.

For my 2nd card, I chose Lucky the Rabbit and transformed him into Cupid.

Here is the front of my card closed. I have used the Circle Pull card and Lucky has been dressed up using the Heart With Wings die set. The bow was made using the Accordion Fancy Label and the arrow uses the diamond from that die set.

Here is the card opened. I have layered circles from various die sets. I cut the spiral from the Spiral Circle pull card out of acetate. The arrows were cut from the Rectangle Pull card die set.

Ho Ho Ho Honey

Hello my crafty friends!  It is time for another Designers Challenge for Pop It Ups.

For my card, I chose Honey the Bear and transformed him into Santa Honey.

Here is the front of my card closed. I have used the Ring Accordion die and Honey has been decked out using the Props 5 set. I love those glasses! I cut Honey in red and white and layered the pieces together to form the suit. Around the frame I have added snow flakes from the All Seasons Tree die set.

Here is the card opened. I have added the scallop frame accessory that comes with the Ring Accordion card. I have added some snowflakes from the Sleigh Gift Card Pop Up die. The stamp is from the Merry and Bright stamp set. I loved that you can bend the stamp to curve the sentiment.
